Educational estimates, not advice
Calculators on ToolPetal, including SIP, EMI, GST, retirement corpus, compound interest, XIRR, old vs new tax regime, HRA exemption, gratuity, CTC to in-hand, and TDS, are browser math helpers. Outputs are approximate illustrations based on the inputs and formulas shown on each page. They are not a recommendation to invest, borrow, file, deduct, or structure compensation in any particular way.
Not affiliated with authorities or institutions
ToolPetal is not affiliated with the Income Tax Department, GST authorities, SEBI, RBI, EPFO, banks, mutual funds, payroll vendors, or any government portal. Labels such as “FY 2026-27,” section numbers, or GST slabs are convenience labels for the math on the page. Always verify against official circulars, your employer’s payroll, your broker’s statements, and a qualified professional.
Rates, slabs, and rules change
Interest rates, GST rates, tax slabs, rebates, surcharge bands, TDS section rates, gratuity ceilings, and exemption rules can change with a Finance Act, notification, or employer policy. Editable rate fields exist so you can match a document you trust; they are not a live feed from any authority.
Browser math and edge cases
Floating-point arithmetic, rounding to paise or rupees, tenure unit switches, and solver methods (for example Newton-Raphson for XIRR) can produce edge-case differences versus another spreadsheet or an institution’s system. Large exponents, zero rates, missing dates, or extreme tenures may fail or overflow deliberately rather than invent a fake number.
What many finance pages ignore
Depending on the tool, estimates may ignore expense ratios, exit loads, NAV timing, loan fees, prepayment, floating-rate resets, cess beyond what the page states, reverse charge, composition schemes, state professional-tax tables, partial-year payroll, or tax on withdrawals. Read the Limitations section on each calculator and treat the result as a starting point only.
