About ToolPetal

ToolPetal is a site of tools that run in your browser. Open a page, run the math or conversion locally, leave. No accounts. Only the optional URL checks go through our server, and nothing is stored.

What it is

A growing catalog of utilities that run in your browser. The homepage groups what exists today; new tools can land outside those groups. Hosting is static files on Cloudflare Pages, plus one small function for the optional URL checks described below. Commercial tool pages may show ads; About, Contact, Privacy, and Disclaimer do not.

Who it is for

People who need a one-off tool without creating another account. If you already have a full spreadsheet model or a professional advisor, use those. These pages are quick checks, not a workspace product.

What it is not

ToolPetal is not a bank, broker, payroll vendor, GST portal, or tax firm. Finance outputs are educational estimates from the formulas shown on each page. They are not investment, tax, or legal advice. Read the Disclaimer before you rely on a number.

How calculations stay local

Tool pages are static HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. When you type numbers or paste text, the work happens in your browser tab. ToolPetal does not run a backend that receives your spreadsheet rows, password strings, PEM keys, or cash-flow tables. Clearing the tab or hitting Clear removes what you entered from the page. Shared computers still need care: screen visibility and browser history are on you.

ToolPetalBot: the URL checker

Three tools can check a live page: the robots.txt tester, the schema markup validator, and the Open Graph generator. When a visitor types a URL there, a small Cloudflare function requests that one URL with the user agent ToolPetalBot/1.0 (+https://toolpetal.com/about) and passes the response back to the visitor's browser. It does not crawl, follow links, or revisit pages on a schedule, and it does not store what it fetches. Each fetch is capped at 1 MB, 8 seconds, and 5 redirects, and private or internal network addresses are refused. Because every request is started by a person, it does not read robots.txt rules. If you run a site and do not want it fetched, return a 403 to that user agent.

How the catalog grows

New tools usually ship on weekday mornings as small, single-purpose pages. Existing tools get depth and UX fixes when something is thin or confusing. There is no blog, no account system, and no promise of a fixed weekly count. The homepage and the SEO, Developer, and Finance hubs list what is live.

Ads and trust pages

Some commercial tool pages may show ads once AdSense is approved. The homepage does not carry ads. About, Contact, Privacy, and Disclaimer stay ad-free so you can read the rules without banners. If something looks wrong on a tool page, email via Contact with the URL.

Who makes ToolPetal

ToolPetal is built and maintained by Cobra. Each tool page shows that byline along with the date the page was last updated. If you spot a wrong formula, a broken tool, or an unclear explanation, send the page URL through Contact and it gets fixed.
