How the Q&A will look as a list on the page.
Match visible FAQ text
FAQPage JSON-LD should mirror questions and answers that real users can read on the page. Search systems dislike schema that invents FAQs not shown in HTML. Paste the same wording you publish in your visible FAQ section.
This builder emits a FAQPage with mainEntity Question/Answer pairs as JSON-LD inside a script tag you can copy.
Worked example: two Q&A pairs to FAQPage JSON-LD
Two pairs about a billing tool become two Question objects, each with name and acceptedAnswer.text. Validate the JSON on the schema markup validator, deploy, then confirm with Google's rich results tool on the live URL.
Limits
There is no hard public cap documented forever, but pages with enormous FAQ dumps look spammy. Prefer genuine questions. This tool does not crawl your URL or inject schema into a live site for you.
Worked JSON-LD shape
Each Question needs a name and an acceptedAnswer with text. Optional fields like url on answers are rarely required for basic FAQ rich results. Keep HTML entities readable; prefer plain text answers without heavy markup inside JSON-LD.
When two pages share near-identical FAQ schema, search systems may ignore duplicates. Prefer page-specific questions that match the unique product or article on that URL.
Worked example: marking up a visible pricing FAQ
A pricing page has a visible question "Can I cancel anytime?" with the answer "Yes. Cancel from Settings and you keep access until the end of the billing period." Add that exact pair here, copy the FAQPage JSON-LD, and paste it on the same page. The question and answer text in the markup should match what visitors read.
Pitfalls
- Hidden questions. Markup for questions that are not on the page breaks Google's guidelines.
- Expecting the rich result. Since 2023 Google shows FAQ rich results mainly for well-known government and health sites, so most sites will not see the dropdowns even with valid markup.
- Ads in answers. Keep answers informational, not promotional.
FAQ
Does FAQ schema generation upload my text?
No. JSON-LD is built in the browser.
How many FAQ pairs should I add?
Enough to cover real questions on the page. Quality beats quantity; avoid keyword stuffing.
Must FAQ schema match visible text?
Yes. Keep wording aligned with what users see to reduce rich-result risk.
What next after copy?
Paste into your template, deploy, validate locally, then use Google's rich results test on the public URL.
Is FAQ schema still worth adding?
It still describes your content in a machine-readable way and other systems can read it, but do not expect FAQ dropdowns in Google for most sites after the 2023 change.
Can I put HTML in an answer?
Google allows a limited set of tags such as links, lists, and bold text in acceptedAnswer text. Keep it simple and test the result.
